Eureka Festival, Science here, there and everywhere!
Agriculture and Agri Food Canada (AAFC) was present at the sixth edition of the Eureka Festival in Montreal's Old Port. Scientists from each of the four AAFC research centres in Quebec put on successive demonstrations featuring essential oils, soil and plant micro organisms, our friends the nematodes, chemical diversity, and hogs, sows and piglets. This year, nearly 63,000 people visited about 60 booths and scientific activities on this intriguing site. A record! The following are a few pictures of the highlights.

It's Friday! The day of scientific discoveries for these students who are learning from research scientist André Bélanger about essential oils in chewing gum.

This student listens with keen interest as research scientist Patrice Audy explains to her how micro-organisms can contribute to plant growth.

There was something for people young and old to talk about during this popular scientific outreach day.

"Did you know that you can see, feel, touch and taste chemical diversity?" Marie-Rose Van Calsteren tells them.
