Saint Andrews Statement

The Saint Andrews Statement (SAS) was endorsed by Ministers (with the exception of Ontario) at their annual meeting in July, 2011.

The statement provides instructions to officials on the development of the next Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) agricultural policy framework, Growing Forward 2 (GF2). Specifically, it outlined broad policy outcomes, key drivers and common policy directions. The direction laid out in the document helped shape the development of the GF2 framework. The current agricultural policy framework, Growing Forward, expires on March 31st, 2013 and a successor framework must be ready for implementation on April 1, 2013.
