Internationalization of Research and Development Program

The Internationalization of Research and Development program is no longer accepting applications.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada will honour all existing contracts and commitments.

The Internationalization of Research and Development (IRD) Program provided grants to allow students and researchers in Canadian universities and colleges involved in existing agriculture and allied sciences research projects the opportunity to internationalize their research by developing collaborative research and development (R&D) arrangements with foreign experts in academic, government or industry research.

IRD proposals had to be twinned with an existing or on-going research project in agriculture and allied sciences approved under one of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada's R&D grants programs. Grants could be made to a maximum of $60,000 over 3 years per internationalization research proposal. Grant funding had to be used for expenditures in direct support of the IRD project.
