The National Program Advisory Committee (NPAC)

A National Program Advisory Committee (NPAC) has been established to provide advice to federal, provincial, and territorial governments on the delivery of AgriStability and AgriInvest. NPAC replaces the National CAIS Committee (NCC), and includes producer representatives from various regions and commodity groups.

The new suite of business risk management (BRM) programs was built on ideas put forward by farmers. Federal, provincial, and territorial governments are committed to involving producers in the implementation of the new Business Risk Management suite.

While NPAC representatives will focus mainly on AgriInvest and AgriStability, they will also consider linkages to other programs within the Business Risk Management suite. The committee will also be responsible for reviewing the administration of AgriStability and AgriInvest, and reporting its recommendations to governments.

Appointments to this new committee were made collaboratively by federal, provincial and territorial governments to ensure good representation by both region and commodity. The committee includes 22 producer representatives and 15 federal and provincial representatives.
