It is no accident that just one per cent of Canada's population is helping feed the other 99. It's in large part thanks to the 125 years of research that brought us to this point, a culmination of tremendous effort, perseverance and ingenuity.

Today, the challenges are no less daunting: invasive species, environmental concerns, a competitive marketplace and growing consumer demand for healthy food choices. These are just some of the drivers of AAFC's commitment to innovation.
