Provincial Programs

Business Development

The province of Ontario is helping farmers and processors improve their business planning. Under Growing Forward, farm families are able to attend business assessment workshops, for example. They may then access cost-shared funding for business planning assistance and skill development.

The Agricultural Management Institute will continue its important work under Growing Forward, promoting business best management practices in Ontario.

Business Development for Farm Businesses

Growing Forward Business Development for Farm Businesses incorporates self-assessment and action plan development with a range of cost-share advisory services and skills development opportunities to help reach your farm business goals.

Growing Forward Business Development for Farm Businesses offers: Growing Your Farm Profits Workshops; Action Plan Review and Sign-off; Farm Financial Assessment; Agriculture Skills Development; Advanced Business Planning; Business Plan Implementation and Information Sessions for Ontario Farm Business Advisors.

Environmental Farm Plan

Environmental Farm Plans (EFP) are assessments voluntarily prepared by farm families to increase their environmental awareness in up to 23 different areas on their farm. Through the EFP local workshop process, farmers will highlight their farm's environmental strengths, identify areas of environmental concern, and set realistic action plans with time tables to improve environmental conditions. Environmental cost-share programs are available to assist in implementing projects.
