An Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture
Developing and improving sustainable on-farm practices will deliver both environmental and economic benefits for the sector.
Funding will support science and innovation initiatives to help farmers put research and knowledge into practice to improve their outcomes. Technical assistance to farmers on land use and planning will be available, as well as information tools and data to help farmers achieve even greater results for the environment.
Growing Forward's environmental initiative, with $199.5 million in funding, will focus on the initiative developing new agri-environmental knowledge, programs and initiatives. This will help farmers address key environmental challenges on water quality and water use, climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and explore new economic opportunities for farmers that encourage additional environmental action.
