  • Développement et usage de la résistance durable à la cécidomyie du blé chez toutes les classes de blé cultivé dans des zones propices à cette maladie et élaboration de méthodes de recherche afin d'utiliser des cultivars résistants pour ainsi réduire les risques qu'un insecte surmonte la résistance
  • Développement et usage de cultivars de blé roux de printemps de l'Ouest canadien à rendement élevé et de cultivars de blé dur résistants au cèphe du blé, au moyen de stratégies appropriées de lutte intégrée pour augmenter la rentabilité de la production du blé dans les zones de sol brun et de sol brun foncé sujettes à la sécheresse
  • Développement d'une variété de blé roux de printemps de l'Ouest canadien de grande qualité destinée au marché primé et maintien des marchés à créneaux de grande valeur tels que Warburton's
  • Développement d'un blé roux de printemps à rendement élevé de qualité semblable à celle du blé roux d'hiver américain et destiné à des marchés variés d'utilisations finales
