  • Development of BAC libraries encompassing the collective genomes (metagenomes) of the rumen and intestinal microbial communities.
  • Identity, functions, and interactions of cultivable and uncultivable rumen and GI tract microbial community members
  • Promoting food safety, animal health, environmental quality, and sustainability of beef production by developing pest management models and evaluating risk to livestock production by arthropod pests of livestock.
  • Strategies to control Escherichia coli O157:H7 in ruminants and their environment
  • Characterization of antibiotic resistant bacteria in cattle and the development of alternatives to subtheraputic antibiotics.
