Access to Information and Privacy Services

The Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Office ensures that the Access to Information Act, the Privacy Act and their related policies are carried out within the department.

The Access to Information Act gives you the right to access federal government records. The Privacy Act manages how your personal information is collected, kept, used, protected and disclosed. It also gives you the right to access your personal information held by the department.
